There is no one price. Any clinic that gives you one over the phone is guessing. It depends on how many teeth you are replacing, the state of the bone underneath, and whether anything needs fixing first.

Here is what we can promise. After your scan you get your price in writing. Not a range. Not a “from” price. And not a number that moves once we start.

Fair question. Most dental “interest free” offers are run by an outside finance company. So there is a set-up fee, a fee on every payment, and a credit application that lands on your file.

Bitesize is ours. No outside lender takes a cut. There is no interest. The credit check is a soft one, so your credit score is not affected. You pick weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You see every term in writing before you agree to anything. Plans still have to be approved.

The area is fully numbed, so you should not feel pain while it is done. Most people tell us afterwards that it was nowhere near as bad as they had imagined.

You will be sore for a few days, like after any dental work. Normal pain relief handles it. If you are nervous, tell us when you book. We can help you relax, from light sedation through to deeper sleep, and we will plan the day around you.

This is the question people are most scared to ask, especially if they work with the public. Most of the time the answer is no. You leave with teeth in.

If you are having a full set done, we usually fit a temporary set the same day. The final teeth go on once everything has settled. For a single implant, there are ways to fill the gap while it heals. We will show you exactly what the in-between looks like before you agree to anything.

Often not. A lot of people are turned away on a flat x-ray, not a RAY 5D scan.

Bone can be built back up with a graft. There are also ways to angle the implants so they use the bone you already have. Nobody, us included, can tell you where you stand until we have seen a proper RAY 5D scan of your jaw. That scan is part of the free visit, so finding out costs you nothing.

People do, and some come back happy. Just make sure you know what you are comparing.

Implants are not one visit. The post has to fuse with the bone before the teeth go on, so it is usually two trips months apart. Once you add flights, hotels and time off work for two trips, the gap gets a lot smaller. And if something needs fixing in year three, the dentist who did it is on the other side of the world. An Australian dentist cannot honour a warranty on work they did not do.

We are not going to tell you overseas work always fails. We are saying the price you are comparing is not the whole price.

Implants are one of the safest bets in dentistry. But no dentist anywhere can promise a perfect result, and you should be wary of one who does. Healing depends on your bone, the medicines you take, whether you smoke, and how well the area is cleaned afterwards.

What matters is who is there if it happens. You see the same team, at the same clinic, with your own scans and notes on file. Your review visits are included. We will show you what is covered and what is not, in writing, before you start.

Every jaw heals at its own pace. So at your visit you get real dates for your case, not an average out of a brochure.

Age on its own does not decide it. We treat patients well into their eighties. What matters is your general health, the medicines you take and the bone you have to work with.

If something in your health history makes implants a bad idea, we will say so plainly and show you what else could work.

The implant itself is made to last for good, and plenty are still doing their job decades on. The tooth or bridge on top is the part that wears. It may need attention over the years, like anything else in your mouth.

Two things make the biggest difference: cleaning around them properly, and turning up for your reviews. That is part of why we do not charge for them.

Usually some of it. Almost never all of it. Major dental cover normally pays a set amount towards implants, with a yearly limit and a waiting period.

We claim from most big funds on the spot. So you only tap your card for the gap, instead of paying it all and chasing a refund. We will check what your own policy pays before you commit to anything.

Some people can. The ATO allows early release of super for certain medical and dental reasons, if they approve it. It is not automatic and it is not open to everyone.

We work with a partner who handles these applications. They can tell you early on whether it is worth trying in your case, so you are not left waiting on a maybe.

You will not be the worst thing we have seen this week, and nobody here will lecture you. We hear “it’s been a while” every single day. Usually from people who stayed away after one bad visit, or because they were scared of the bill.

A denture sits on your gum and comes out. It costs less up front, and for some people it is the right call. The downsides are the ones denture wearers talk about. It moves while you eat. You need glue. And the bone underneath keeps shrinking, because nothing is holding it. That is why a denture that fitted five years ago does not fit now.

Implants fix into the bone. They stay put, and they give that bone a job to do. There is also a middle option, where a few implants hold your denture firmly in place. We will show you all three.
